Lupus Research
Research at the Lupus Center involves the study of myocarditis and cardiovascular disease in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients, evaluating the risk of infections of patients with lupus, serological biomarkers in SLE, and developing an outcome measure in collaboration with the Lupus Foundation of America that includes both the physician and patient’s perspective. This outcome measure could inform the tailoring of medication regimens in clinical trials and in clinical care in order to achieve low disease activity and remission in SLE.
